The Blair Witch Project overall was a good film as it had a good story line and interesting characters. but in many aspects it is a low budget film, one reason this is, is because the camera quality isn't amazing at all and they are all low quality cameras, also the locations they filmed were often used more than once, a prime example of this is the little river or stream they used twice in the film for two different things as it is cheaper than paying for a place to rent out. Also the Props they use are either handmade such as the things hanging from the trees or low budget such as the car they were driving or things they already owned like the Burgans and camping equipment. Also the actors are almost very unknown and most likely just friends of the producers or even the producers and directors themselves. A major giveaway it is a low budget is the fact you don't see the witch its self as that would have been to expensive to animate it or find costumes and props for it.
Another thing that tells you it is low budget is that the special effects was only fake blood and that was it really, and because they only had low budget cameras and not many of them they filmed it in first person and they may not have tripods as they can be expensive.
